Drupal optimization

This site has suffered immensely during the past few months as I added ever more modules and customizations to it. Image loading was getting to be a real bear, and it was taking an average of 15-20 seconds (an eternity on the Internet!) to load each page. I went surfing for some optimization tactics for Drupal and came across an excellent article by a freelance Drupal developer. In the coming weeks this site should be back to a more respectable <4 second load times per page.
